to simply just be.
Offering therapeutic bodywork, private 1:1 Yoga tuition, functional movement/mobility training and 1.5-2hr small group classes of 4 in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. There are no "levels" or requirements needed.
You are welcome as you are. If you can breathe you can do Yoga.
Both private 1:1 tuition as well as the small group sessions offered are not your typically experienced yoga classes. The intent is not to "sweat it out" or "switch it off" but rather the exact opposite. These classes offer mindful movement very much connecting you to the here and now inviting you to move with mind, body and breath. Although they are not physically demanding classes you may find yourself physically, mentally and emotionally challenged. Their aim is to help you find balance, harmony and peace. You will learn much about yourself through the very act of Yoga, insight and self-inquiry.
Float in the restorative hammock or take a supported rope Sirsasana on the Yoga Koruntas. Connect deeply to your breath and find an inner stillness. Take in the comforting weight of sandbags sinking you into restorative surrender, surrounded by candelight and warmth. Experience the waking of your energetic pathways and meridians and the energy come alive within.

Therapeutic Restorative classes can be both dynamic or passive and are inspired by the Iyengar Yoga method. Dynamic Restorative classes aim to restore harmony to physical and emotional imbalances through more dynamic movement based on your Doshas or constitutions, whilst passive classes work to bring balance and harmony to our autonomic nervous systems bringing us from a more often than not stress induced state of "fight, freeze or flight" to a healing state of "rest and digest." Both styles offer extensive prop usage and exploration of modifications and variations.
The therapeutic Yin classes aim to bring energy and life force into stagnant channels whilst giving your joints and connective tissues extra attention. On an emotional level they aim to help you cultivate a mindful and meditative practice. If you can learn from your breath to cope with what's going on inside your mindbody, you can better cope with what's going on outside of it.
As the saying goes, where your attention goes...your healing Qi flows.
Functional Movement 1:1's and group sessions are designed to again deeply connect your mind body and breath in a Yogic approach and get you moving in ways that train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work, sport or in Yoga class. While using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, functional fitness exercises also emphasize core stability. Increase your joint range of motion, recruit more muscles, improve your overall coordination and movement skills, cognitive function and learning patterns and better understand Yoga postures in greater depth. Plus, they're really FUN!!
